Olds Fashioned Christmas celebrating twenty years in the community

Since 1993 ‘Olds Fashioned Christmas’ has been connecting community, cultural and recreational events as a way to promote a lifestyle of family in Olds. Starting on the first Sunday in November the many events, sales and celebrations run through to the end of the month.

‘Olds Fashioned Festival of Trees’

This year the Olds Fashioned Festival of Trees is open for public viewing Friday, November 8th from 7 p.m. – 9 p.m., and Saturday, November 9th from noon – 3 p.m. Event Admission is a donation to the Mountain View Food Bank.

The auction and social is on Saturday, November 9th from 7:30 p.m. – 10 p.m. Tickets are $20 each and available at the Olds Town Office or through Olds Fashioned Festival of Trees Committee members.

Olds Fashioned Christmas will receive 50% of the proceeds which will be used for the Olds Fashioned Christmas Light Up event at Centennial Park and The Cow Palace on November 30, 2013;

TransCanada Theatre will receive 40% of the proceeds to be used for new equipment;

Olds & District Hospice Society will receive 10% of the donated proceeds.

‘Olds Agricultural Society’ hosts ‘The Santa Claus Parade of Lights’

The Santa Claus Parade of Lights is scheduled for Saturday November 30th.

Light Up Festival’

Thousands of people gather at the Olds Agricultural Society’s ‘Cow Palace’ and at ‘Centennial Park’ in Uptowne Olds to take part in everything from hayrides, games, free hot dogs and hot chocolate, entertainment and a visit from Santa Claus accompanied by Mrs. Claus. 

Olds Fashioned Christmas is the result of hundreds of volunteers from the town pitching in to celebrate the season.
