Students from Deer Meadow School experience local government first hand

Deer Meadow students visit with Town Council

Grade six students from Deer Meadow School took part in an Olds Town Council meeting on April 14th. The visit to council chambers was in conjunction with their studies in civics which includes local municipal government.

The students came prepared with questions that they composed themselves in preparation for the vist. Town Councillors took turns answering the questions which ranged from disability access at the arena to traffic lights on High-way 2A south at the Aquatic Centre.

Following their opportunity to question Town Council and photos of the group , the students were presented with thank you gifts from town staff and Councillors.
