Town of Olds engages community to create new bylaws
The Town of Olds hosted a community engagement event on April 23rd with the aim of gathering feedback to use in developing new bylaws.Using the ‘Community Cafe’ model the participants discussed their concerns from four areas of community life which had been determined in previous engagement sessions. Pets and animals, traffic and parking, public behaviours and the care of properties where the four discussion points. A common perspective was regarding the lack of enforcement of existing bylaws. The feedback will be reviewed by the Town’s administration and then presented to Town Council for discussion and possible creation as new bylaws. According to Norm McInnis, the CAO for the Town of Olds, this process should be completed by the fall of 2014.
