The next phase of the Uptowne area redevelopment plan has started and businesses are open during the construction which is replacing aging infrastructure. Crews are working on the Uptowne area redevelopment which includes upgrading the infrastructure on 50th Avenue between 50th Street and 48th Street. The businesses along this stretch of street are open and are accessible via the sidewalks. Parking is available behind some of the retail stores and in three lots in the Uptowne area. Work is expected to continue for at least two months, weather permitting. We spoke with Scot Chant, interim director of operations for the Town of Olds at a recent Town Council meeting.
