At the November 24th Olds Town Council meeting, three members of the Olds RCMP Auxiliary were introduced to the Mayor and Councillors. Auxiliary Police Officers work with a uniformed regular member. They carry everything except a handgun. They go on a one week training session in K Division. They assist with regular patrols and anything deemed appropriate. They are classified as Peace Officers and wear a uniform that is slightly different than a regular member. They do have full powers of a police officer while on duty and with a regular member.
Olds currently has 4 on staff.
