The Olds Amateur Football Association held a spring training camp on Friday May 1st at Koinonia School just south of Olds. The guest coaches were two pro players from the CFL, Mike Klassen and Brander Craighead. This is Klassen’s second year as a guest coach at the spring training camp. We spoke with Brander Craighead, an offensive lineman with the Calgary Stampeders. Mike Klassen, a defensive lineman for the Montreal Alouettes, spoke about his connection to the Olds and Sundre area. The Olds Amateur Football Association (OAFA) is a non-profit society whose primary objective is to offer Pee Wee and Bantam football programs to eligible youth in Olds and surrounding area. One of their goals is to establish a strong and vibrant working relationship with the Spartan Football program run by the Olds High School.
