Olds Residents share their stories as part of a national project

The Tale of a Town story mobile was in Uptowne Olds on July 21st and 22nd to capture stories from residents who took the time to reminisce about the early years of our community. We spoke with Lisa Marie DiLiberto, Artistic Director of FixtPoint the organization heading up the project. We asked Lisa Marie if they heard common stories from the various towns across Canada. Lisa Marie offered up the opinion that main streets in towns like Olds still had a future in the community.

In early spring 2015 just before the provincial election, the Alberta Main Street program was eliminated by the PC government. We spoke with Michelle Jorgensen, Heritage Advisor for the Town of Olds, about the steps the town is taking to ensure that heritage management continues in the community.

Watch for the stories from local long-term residents of Olds when they are published on the Tale of a Town website at and on the Uptowne Olds Facebook page.
