Gowns For Grads hold Fashion Show at TransCanada Theatre

By Kristen Hubschmid

On Saturday March 26th models donned the dresses and suits from the closets of Gowns for Grads – a home-grown effort to bring low-cost dresses to grads who may need financial assistance or simply don’t want to spend several hundred dollars on a one-night dress.
Karen Grudeski has been carrying on the cause for several years now, but this is the first year she decided to hold a fashion show. Grads and the public attend the show and then have a chance to purchase the dresses, along with jewelry and the necessary alterations, the next day.
Ladies with dresses to contribute can consign them or donate them every year in the months approaching grad. Notices go out through all Chinook’s Edge high schools in mid-winter.
